GuWei Museum Logotype Identity

We were commissioned to design from scratch the brand identity for a new museum located in Hong Kong. Brand Value, Naming, Brand Architecture and Logo Identity Design were some of the development stages carried out for this project. The brand naming consists of a wordplay based on direct and inverse phonetic translations of Chinese and Italian surnames. A playful duality where one nationality meets another. A testimony of the founders’ legacy. The underlying concept Where East meets the West through everyday objects celebrates the richness of diversity in art and culture by understanding China’s role and impact as a creator, producer and exporter of porcelain drinking vessels and other everyday objects celebrated by different cultures. The owl with its rich meaning both in Eastern and Western traditional cultures, represents wisdom and prosperity.
